AsiaRooms.com divulges tickets for the 2010 Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show are now on sale, with the Australian city preparing to host a major celebration of horticulture and the outdoor lifestyle.

People booking accommodation in Melbourne next month may already be planning to attend the event, which runs from March 24th to 28th at the city's Royal Exhibition Building in Carlton Gardens.

Billed as the biggest flower and garden show to take place in the southern hemisphere, the five-day festival is set to feature a diverse range of green-fingered exhibits and stunning floral displays.

Anticipated highlights of the event include the Landscape Show Gardens, which will see some of Australia's finest landscape gardeners going head to head to receive the gold award from the judges.

There will also be an exhibition of garden sculptures, a display of floral fashion and the Outdoor Design and Living Zone, which is sponsored by Universal Magazines.

Tickets for the show are currently priced at AU$20 (£11.50) for adults and AU$8 for children, although group and family rates are also available.

Carlton Gardens is a UNESCO world heritage site which was originally designed for the Melbourne International Exhibition in 1880.

As well as the Royal Exhibition Building, the park includes ornamental lakes and elaborate fountains.
