LateRooms.com can announce that anyone who has booked a few nights in hotels in Sydney at the end of March may want to consider buying tickets for the Golden Slipper Festival, one of the best horse racing events in the country.

Interested parties will be able to catch some action at the Rosehill Gardens Racecourse on a series of weekends in March and April.

Darley Guineas Day, which takes place on March 27th, promises a hard-fought contest, with the horses and riders taking to the track for the Darley Rosehill Guineas race to gain a place in the final day of racing on April 3rd, as well as the AU$500,000 (£290,918) prize fund.

Tickets for the event start from AU$25, as long as they are pre-booked. Gates will open at 11:00 (local time), with the first race starting at 12:10 and there will be a host of activities taking place throughout the day alongside the main attraction.

If the experience whets your appetite then there is always the final race day on April 3rd, when a host of riders will tear around the track on their thoroughbreds in a bid to win the AAMI Golden Slipper.

This 1,200 m sprint will see the winner collect AU$3.5 million as well as earning the prestige of taking the title.

Entry for the final day of races at the Rosehill Gardens costs AU$40, with more expensive tickets on offer for reserved seats.
