Paolo Design Group Reveals New Riverside Office

March 04, 2010 (PRLEAP.COM) Lifestyle News
After years of helping clients maximize tight spaces, Paolo Design Group has applied its office design expertise to relocating its headquarters into a smaller and more central office along the Willamette River. The award-winning interior design firm is now located at Waterfront Pearl, 1310 NW Naito Parkway #302.

The design team, best known for its innovations in green home design, downsized from approximately 1,000 square feet to approximately 200 square feet, trading the extra space for a magnificent view of the river and a tranquil environment in which clients can work through the design process with Paolo's expert designers, who are available by appointment.

In celebration of this exciting move, Paolo Design Group offers a few simple tips for making the most of small office spaces:

- Maximize lighting. Light and airflow are essential to giving any room a feeling of spaciousness. Avoid single-source overhead lighting and opt for multiple light sources placed near walls to reflect the glow. Incorporate furniture made of metal, glass or polished wood to help reflect light.
- Use mirrors. Place a large mirror opposite a window or frame a mirror in a windowless room to give the impression of additional space.
- Make the most of furniture. Use compact furniture that can do double duty, such as a desk that can double as a conference table.

REMODELED WEBSITE
In conjunction with the move, the Portland, Ore., home remodel designer has also overhauled its website, www.paolodesigngroup.com, to include an expanded portfolio with photos of completed projects, additional design and contracting services and resources for homeowners who want to learn more about sustainable living.

DESIGNERS HELPING THE COMMUNITY
Paolo Design Group isn't the only design team to give its work space a spring remodel. Owner Paolo Scardina is helping a handful of passionate teenagers from Pacific Crest Community School transform their community room into a 1960s-style lounge with dedicated spaces for eating, socializing, food prep and storage.

Paolo will coach the students through the design and project management stages, helping them maximize natural light, incorporate reclaimed furniture and minimize costs to conform to a $6,000 budget. The students will do most of the work themselves during spring break March 22 to April 5.
