LateRooms.com highlights anyone who enjoys going to the movies may want to book Berlin hotels in April so that they can catch some of the films on offer during the achtung Berlin festival.

Running from April 14th to 21st, the achtung Berlin - new Berlin film award event will screen a host of feature-length movies and documentaries around the city, which are all produced - at least in part - by film-makers from the Berlin and Brandenburg area.

Another criteria for entrants into the festival is that the production must be in some way linked to the German capital through its theme.

This is the sixth year that the competition has been run and it is now the third-largest film festival to take place in Berlin.

Flicks compete to win across five different categories, including best feature film, best documentary and best short film.

Anyone with an interest in the locally-made cinematic offerings can catch them at one of two movie theatres - the Babylon Berlin: Mitte and Passage Neuköln.

"The achtung Berlin film festival is likely to be popular," said Jess Reading, head of marketing at LateRooms. "LateRooms strongly recommends people considering attending to book hotels Berlin as soon as possible."
