AsiaRooms.com reports some of Bali's best young surfers are set to compete in a forthcoming event on Kuta beach.

Taking place on Sunday April 25th, the Rusty Gromfest Halfway contest is the third and final event in a junior surfing series organised by surf equipment firm Rusty and the Coca-Cola Indonesian Surfing Championship (ISC).

People with experience of Kuta hotels will know that the resort is one of the most popular surfing spots in Bali, due to its long sandy beach and variety of waves.

The tournament is open to all surfers under the age of 16 and entry is free, although local competitors will be given priority due to the limited number of places.

According to the ISC Tour website, the winner will be rewarded with an all-expenses paid trip to the 2010 Rusty Gromfest, which takes place from July 9th to 12th at Lennox Head in Australia.

There will also be other prizes on offer for the finalists at Kuta, including Rusty clothing packs, Song Ericsson products and free surfboard art from the Freedom surf shop.

In addition, the best performer in the under 14 division will receive a Sony PSP games console.

Before the Kuta event, another Rusty Gromfest contest will take place at Bali's Pererenan beach on Sunday March 28th.
