AsiaRooms.com can announce that admirers of contemporary art are advised to book hotels in Hong Kong later this year, as some of the world's top galleries will be taking part in a special event in the region.

The Hong Kong International Art Fair, also known as ART HK, runs from Thursday May 27th to Sunday May 30th.

With more than 140 galleries from 27 different countries due to participate, the event will showcase some of the best modern artwork from cities such as London, Paris, Berlin, New York, Sydney and Tokyo.

Organiser Asian Art Fairs has pledged to provide its strongest ever line-up this year, with leading galleries such as London's White Cube returning alongside a host of new additions at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

"We are very pleased that so many established galleries from around the globe want to show their best work at ART HK," commented fair director Magnus Renfrew.

Promising "work of a quality and geographical diversity not available anywhere else in the world", ART HK offers collectors the chance to buy new pieces and make contacts while also encouraging the local art scene in Hong Kong.

Other expected highlights include the solo presentations from contemporary artists such as Glasgow's Jim Lambie for The Modern Institute and Yoshitomo Nara of Japan for Marianne Boesky.

Tickets for ART HK are due to go on sale in mid-March.
