LateRooms.com can reveal that People staying in Florence hotels next month may like to check out ART 2010, the city's international handicrafts trade fair.

Taking place from April 24th to May 2nd, the event will showcase a large range of products in themed areas of the Fortezza da Basso, a former Italian citadel that now houses one of the city's exhibition centres.

ART has reached its 74th edition and continues to be a highly popular event among local people and visitors to Florence.

According to the event's website, the trade fair represents "a unique meeting place for people who love that which is beautiful, for those who regard creativeness as valuable".

ART aims to be both a functional trade fair and a significant cultural occurrence, with sections devoted to interior design, jewellery, clothing, accessories and food from around the world.

Tickets are priced at €5 (£4.50) and the event is open from 10:00 to 23:00 local time each day, although the final day will feature an earlier closing time of 20:00.
