LateRooms.com divulges Milan plays host to the Five Senses and Conviviality, which is an art event dedicated to the idea of the kitchen and other familial spaces.

Taking place from April 14th until May 9th, this show looks at all the emotions and rituals that go on while food is being prepared and consumed.

In order to experience this peculiar event, holidaymakers at hotels in Milan should head to the Villa Reale, in which there will be a guided tour through the luxury house, starting with the pantry and kitchens and encompassing other familial spaces.

"The eighteenth-century aristocratic mansion, now the Gallery of Modern Art, hosts a journey through some of the most significant expressions of the act of eating and sharing food," explained the venue.

Curated by Franco Laera, the experience will not be confined to simple meals, but explore dinner parties, wedding feasts, the solitary meal, the street festival and the coffee break among other phenomena.

The organisers have used a combination of art forms in the installation including theatre, music, literature and cinema to offer a unique show.

Entrance is free, with Villa Reale closed on Mondays and opening at 09:00 (local time) every other day.

The venue is closed between 13:00 and 14:00 and shuts in the evening at 17:30 on Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday, while Thursday to Saturday it is open until 20:00.

While people are in town they could try and catch the Public Design Festival, which goes on until April 18th.
