LateRooms.com can announce that people who enjoy sampling the culinary delights of the different countries they visit will find an excellent gastronomical event on offer in Brisbane at the beginning of May.

Running for one day only, the Caxton Street Seafood and Wine Festival will take place in the heart of the city on May 2nd.

Anyone who is staying in accommodation in Brisbane should consider heading to the event if they want to try some of the local specialities.

Culinary delights on offer include fresh seafood served up by the city's best chefs, all washed down with locally-sourced wines.

Many of Brisbane's top eateries have stands at the street fair, which interested foodies can book out for the evening.

Although the day focuses on tasty treats and smooth wines, there is also music to keep visitors entertained.

Three stages will be erected in the Caxton Street precinct, where performers such as Belle Roscoe, Casey Barnes and Chocolate Strings will stand up to get you singing and dancing all night.

As with the food, the emphasis is on local people, with Australian singers and bands dominating the bill.

Tickets for the festival are on sale online at a total price of AU$22. All the action starts from 11:00 (local time) and runs until 22:00.
