LateRooms.com can announce that people who enjoy going to the cinema to see unusual films may be interested in the Audi Festival of German Film taking place in Melbourne next month.

Running from April 22nd until May 2nd, the event promises to offer movie lovers who are staying in accommodation in Melbourne a chance to attend a host of screenings of the year's best flicks from Germany.

The opening screening will take place at the Palace Cinema Como, featuring Soul Kitchen, from award-winning director Faith Akin.

Doors will open from 18:30 (local time) for a 19:00 start. Following the opening night, there will be several showings of a host of different movies each day, with start times ranging from 10:00 until 21:00.

Some of the films on offer to audiences include The White Ribbon, Mein Kampf and Same Same But Different.

All the movies will either be shown at the Palace Cinema Como or Kino Cinemas, with a full programme available on the festival's website.

In addition to the film showings, there will also be some special events taking place to allow interested people to discuss the films that they have just seen.

Among them is a discussion planned relating to the psychology of The White Ribbon, which is set in a German village shortly before the outbreak of the First World War and tells a chilling and atmospheric story.

It picked up the prize for best foreign language film at this year's Golden Globe Awards.
