April 12, 2010 (PRLEAP.COM) Health News
Consumer Guide to Dentistry experienced a record-setting start to 2010, registering the busiest traffic quarter since the site's inception.

In the first quarter, the site served approximately 440,000 unique visitors, a 33 percent increase over the first quarter of 2009, according to Google Analytics. The record-breaking quarter bests the previous high of approximately 334,000 unique visitors for the fourth quarter of 2009. About 93 percent of visits were generated from search engines, an indication that the site's audience comprises highly targeted visitors.

Also, use of the site's cosmetic dentist directory is up 54 percent over the last year, while page views of the before-and-after gallery are up 47 percent. The articles registering the highest percentage gains were those about dental braces, wisdom teeth, veneers cost and Invisalign cost. The most popular articles on the site remain those on dental implants, teeth whitening and veneers.

"Our consistent growth is a testament to the relevance of the oral health and cosmetic dentistry information we provide," said Allison DiMatteo, editor of Consumer Guide to Dentistry. "We are pleased to reach and educate an increasing number of consumers seeking quality information about dental care."

The editorial team of Consumer Guide to Dentistry continues to develop new, informative content, furthering the comprehensive nature of the site. Upcoming articles will cover even more oral health topics, including sports dentistry, Oraverse (a local anesthetic reversal agent), tooth extraction, invisible braces and tooth discoloration.
