New UK website challenges the conventions of travel

Forget the maps and brochures: a new UK website is set to change the way we travel by providing satellite maps and virtual tours of holiday destinations around the world.

ReserveMy.com has already launched in the US to great acclaim, providing a one-stop shop for business and leisure travelers. Now its unique hotel visual search and map-based reservation service is to do the same for UK customers as ReserveMy.co.uk launches this week, allowing visitors to get up close and personal with their destinations before they even leave for the airport.

"Virtual travel is all about making sure that travelers get exactly what they want from their destinations," says ReserveMy business developer, Ousama Abushagur. "ReserveMy is unique in that rather than booking a hotel and hoping it lives up to expectations, our customers can examine every detail of their chosen destination, making sure they find the perfect room at the perfect price."

ReserveMy certainly does that. Plug in a search for available hotels in Las Vegas, for example, and rather than a dull list of available rooms, you'll get a satellite picture of the famous Strip, from which you can zoom into each hotel, view pictures and check availability.

Another click, and you can zoom back out to look at where your hotel is located in the city, or take a look at a different hotel altogether.

"The satellite maps on the website offer more information about your destination than you could hope to find from a guidebook or traditional website," says Ousama Abushagur. "It really is an amazing way to get a feel for a place before deciding to go there, and, of course, it makes the business of getting around your destination so much easier."
