AsiaRooms.com reports people who enjoy sitting down to watch programmes such as X Factor and American Idol while back at home may find a live show in Chiang Mai which promises similar entertainment.

Organised by the American Pacific International School (APIS), which prides itself on offering a diverse cultural education to its students, the evening of music promises to be plenty of fun for anyone staying in Chiang Mai hotels.

On May 8th a host of pupils from local schools will take to the stage to perform their favourite songs.

The live show will be held at APIS and will give students staying at the educational establishment an opportunity to showcase their musical talents.

Just 250 tickets will be made available for adults to attend the event, with a further 100 seats on offer to fellow students to support their classmates.

As well as singers, who will be belting out tunes in the hope of being crowned the Chiang Mai Regional Idol - 2010, there will also be a number of live bands vying for the title of Chiang Mai Regional Battle of the Bands - 2010.

The big night is preceded by a smaller show on May 7th where the best students from the school will be selected to compete against other local musicians.

Anyone who is staying in Thailand hotels and wants to attend should contact APIS for information regarding tickets.

Proceeds from the sales will be used to fund the event in 2011.
