AsiaRooms.com reports people staying in Dubai hotels who want to experience some culture as well as the shopping and beaches on offer in the emirate should consider visiting Artspace Dubai during their stay.

This is because an exhibition of works by Qatari artist Yousef Ahmed will be on display in the venue until May 8th.

His works are unusual because he takes his inspiration from the flat desert landscape which characterises many of the countries in this region of the Middle East, as well as influence from Arabic calligraphy.

Many of his paintings are in the form of collages or mixed-media works.

According to the Artspace Dubai website, the colours and textures that can be seen in his artistic offerings are "derived from natural elements".

Travellers who want to visit the venue can find it at The Gate Village in Building 3 of the Dubai International Finance Centre.

It is open from 10:00 until 20:00 (local time) every day of the week except Friday.

Artspace Dubai specialises in exhibits of contemporary art from the Middle East and as such, may be able to offer visitors an insight into the culture of the region. It also sells many of the pieces that it displays.
