ST. LOUIS − This season, the most trusted name in moving hit the racetrack when Mayflower Transit sponsored driver Jeff Burton in Richard Childress Racing’s (RCR) No. 29 Chevrolet in the Sept. 3 NASCAR Busch Series race at California Speedway.

"It's a thrill to be associated with a great driver like Jeff Burton and one of NASCAR's premier organizations – Richard Childress Racing," said Carl Walter, vice president of marketing for Mayflower Transit. "With our 450 Mayflower agents cheering on the No. 29 car, it's was a memorable weekend at California Speedway."

For the past 13 years, Mayflower Transit has enjoyed a relationship with NASCAR that included an association with Burton for seven years. 2005 marks the first year that the company has been the primary sponsor for a Busch Series event.

"I've had a long relationship with Mayflower, dating back to the late 90s," said Burton. "So when they decided to step into a primary sponsorship role for a Busch Series event, I was honored they came to me to represent them again. I always have fun racing in the Busch Series and racing for Mayflower."

In addition to its presence on race days, Mayflower leverages its NASCAR sponsorship to support other marketing initiatives such as advertising, trade shows and customer appreciation events. The network of Mayflower agents across the country has access to a replica simulator car, driver appearances and advertising that can be modified for specific markets.

“Over the years we have found that not only are NASCAR fans extremely loyal to their favorite driver but also to the racing sponsors’ products and services,” said Walter. “Mayflower is very proud to be part of the sport of NASCAR and interact with the great racing fans.”

Mayflower Transit, founded in 1927, is one of the nation’s oldest and largest van lines and transports household goods, electronic equipment, trade show exhibits and displays, works of art, and specialized freight, utilizing a network of 700 affiliated agents throughout the United States and around the world.
