As the Gay and Lesbian community all over Europe gets ready to head to the German city of Berlin for the 18th Berlin Lesbian and Gay City Festival, leading online hotel booking service DirectRooms.com says that hotel rooms in Berlin are being gobbled up fast.

Marketing itself under the banner of 'Equal Rights for the Unequal', the Berlin Lesbian and Gay Festival has become one of the most popular Gay events in Europe in recent years. The event consists of parades, live music performances, cabarets and much more and is based in the gay quarter of Berlin around Nollendorfplatz in Schöneberg. The festivities extend across an area of some 20,000 square metres.

Hotels in Berlin are getting booked up quickly, and with more than 450,000 attendees expected to descend on the city for the festival, it's a sensible idea to get a room booked well in advance of travelling, advises DirectRooms.com.

Spokesperson for DirectRooms.com, commented, "Berlin is now known as one of the biggest and best party cities in Europe, so loads of major events are now staged there. The Berlin Lesbian and Gay Festival is one of the biggest, meaning that hotel rooms in the city are more in demand than ever."

"It's a smart suggestion to look online and book a room before travelling to the festival to avoid having to trawl all over the city when you arrive looking for a hotel which has vacancies."
