I-Town Records is proud to announce the release of five albums on Sept. 22, 2005. Spanning the gamut from funk and soul to Americana and alt-country with a splash of electronic ambience.

Jsan and the Analogue Sons, "self-titled" I-Town debut (Tuff Soul/ R&B)
Front man rebel charm and forthright Tuff Soul make Jsan and the Analogue Sons a life-force that evokes the integrity of Bob Marley and the romance of Marvin Gaye. Jsan’s soul vibe is propelled by some of Ithaca’s best session players: Mike Stark on Hammond organ and bass pedals, Lee Hamilton (ex-John Brown’s Body) and Alejandro Bernard on horns and Mathew Saccucci-Morano on drum kit.

Thousands of One, "self-titled" I-Town debut (Soul/ Rock/ Hip Hop/ Gospel)
Gaining notoriety for their spirited live shows in clubs and festivals throughout the northeast, Thousands of One jumps from activist/ retro soul — think Olu Dara or Marvin Gaye – to underground hip hop a la Roots or Talib Kweli with a funk/rock edge. Producer Elliot Martin, vocalist/songwriter for John Brown’s Body, combined his love for space age synth and analogue knobs with a loyalty to the band’s live sound on this band’s ode to dreamers and revolutionaries past and present.

Uniit and Billy Cote, "Glen the Owl" (Psychedelic Folk/Soul)
The debut recording from two of Ithaca’s most accomplished musicians. Cote, formerly of Atlantic Records standouts Madder Rose, and Uniit of the Sim Redmond Band shine on this startling release. Uniit’s delivery weaves in and out of Coté’s spooky torch songs and psychedelic folk/soul, creating a brand of music that is sometimes off-kilter but always inviting, with scintillating pop hooks.

Crow Greenspun, "Blood and Decision" (Americana/ Soul)
One of the pleasures of Crow Greenspun's music is that he refuses to be held back by a
conservative notion of tradition or a limiting sense of genre. His new album, Blood and
Decision, is rooted in classic folk and soul music, but along with his excellent love songs ("Blood
and Decision"), Greenspun also includes a hip-hop song ("Small Man of History"), a weird,
experimental set piece ("Los Colores"), and a wild abstract lyric that is impossible to categorize
as anything other than visionary rock ("The Story Remains").
“Crow Greenspun is a remarkable songwriter with an affective voice. His song, ‘Half a
Child,’ is one of half a dozen little masterpieces on his sophomore release, ‘Blood and
Decision.’” -Jiro Van Lunterneen, The Ithaca Times

Trevor MacDonald, "Porch Light" (Alt-Country/ Americana)
Known as Lead singer/ songwriter for the Roots Rock Zydeco band Sunny Weather, Trevor MacDonald has played hundreds of shows throughout the East Coast during which time he performed with or opened for Rusted Root, Donna the Buffalo, John Anderson, and Old Crow Medicine Show. Recorded over the past year “Porch Light,” chronicles the intimate journey of a young man struggling to understand heartbreach in the twilight of his youth. Gathering feelings along the highways of America awash in Pedal Steel and Poetry.
