Modern Wallpaper Provider Graham & Brown introduces their first collaboration with American designer Amy Butler at this year's ICFF

At this year's 2010 International Contemporary Furniture Fair Graham & Brown will be launching their first ever collaboration with an American creative designer, Amy Butler.

A designer best known for her modern, relaxed approach to botanical, geometric, and romantic inspirations, Amy's design portfolio includes printed fabrics and home accessories to fashion and craft projects, which are sold worldwide.

Amy's first designer wallpaper collection for Graham & Brown, developed from her studio in central Ohio, demonstrates her spirited use of color and bold use of print; inspired by nature, she has mixed pattern to create designs which reflect her modern, mid-century approach.

Here she describes why wallpaper has captured her imagination. "Wallpaper, for me, is something so perfectly suited to my own personal style, and something I've wanted to do for many years. I've always loved Graham & Brown's quality and expressive point of view. The idea that we could team up and create ecologically-sound wallpaper is something I'm very proud of and extremely excited about. I've designed the collection to mix and match to allow for countless combinations."

Amy Butler designed exclusively for Graham & Brown features six evocative color palettes – Sunset, Field, Stone, Moss, Midnight and Ocean. Within each color palette are six designs, creating a collection of 36 distinct, eye-catching modern wallpaper designs. The range has been produced in the UK using water-based inks on a responsibly sourced FSC base.

Lacework is a modern take on folk aesthetic. The bold feel of the mandalas are complemented by the delicate lace textures.

Field Poppies has a lush play of light and dark, like looking at the top of a pond covered in glorious blossoms. The flowers have a wonderful dimension with lovely depth and a little bit of drama!

Temple Tulips has a modern Rococo feel that flows in a striking fashion as it creates a beautiful, soft organic pattern.

Passion Lily bursts upward with fresh blooms that are tucked inside the elegant structure of a graphic trellis.

Memento is a wonderfully warm pop bouquet pulled from fond memories of the happy floral designs Amy grew up with. This nod to flower nostalgia is made modern with its bold scale and fresh color

Georgia is a bubbly trailing pattern inspired by cotton blossoms. A dimensional use of color adds to the soft "flow" of the design, creating a subtle stripe effect.

Fountain is a wonderfully graphic and understated motif inspired by Amy's trips to India and Indonesia. Enlarging the print for walls creates a dynamic surprise.

Sun & Moon reminds Amy of little solar rays, or a full moon. An almost Deco style, it adds a small, subtle note to the bigger collection, but stands on its own! This paper is perfect to combine with others in a room.
