Blue Fish blog network launches to encourage aspiring bloggers

The Blue Fish Network, which officially launched in September 2005, is a UK-based online service linking and promoting niche web sites and blogs from Britain and across the globe.

Andy Merrett, founder of the network, explains: "We believe that blogging is a powerful tool for independent writers to have their say on a wide variety of subjects, including current affairs, world issues, consumer reviews, and personal views.

"Some view blogging as trivial and unimportant, but there are a number of influential writers using the web to publish information and ideas.

"We bring together people with the talent, passion, and integrity to publish distinctive, quality sites, and we encourage new and aspiring writers from the UK and beyond to get involved.

"We don't have a lot of membership rules or regulations, preferring to give writers the flexibility to publish in their own style. Neither do we claim ownership of our members' work, or require any payment.

"We're not the only blog network on the Internet, but we like to think we're refreshingly different from some of the bigger players."

To celebrate the launch, Blue Fish Network is giving away a free domain name, web hosting, blogging tools, support and promotion to the best new blog idea. Full details at www.bluefishnetwork.co.uk/competition

The Blue Fish Network currently links up six blogs, with more being planned in the near future.
