Fess Parker Winery looks to their “Big Easy Syrah”
to aide victims of Hurricane Katrina

The Fess Parker Winery announced today that they will be donating $10,000 dollars to the American Red Cross to aide the victims of Hurricane Katrina. The money represents a percentage of the proceeds from the sale of the 2002 and 2003 vintages of this acclaimed Santa Barbara County syrah. “The death toll and devastation in New Orleans and the gulf states is hard to comprehend,” said Eli Parker, President and Director of Winemaking. “We feel fortunate to be able to do a little something for a community that has been so supportive of us in the past.”

The restaurant community of New Orleans enthusiastically embraced the previous release of the vineyard designated Big Easy Syrah. The 2002 vintage received 93 points from Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate.

The winery will also hold a holiday toy drive in early December for the youngest victims of this unprecedented natural disaster.
