Open Book Press To Aid In Hurricane Relief

(PRLEAP.COM) Tiverton, Ontario, Canada & Bayville, New Jersey, September, 23rd, 2005 – Co-Owners of Open Book Press, Mike Gagnon and Chris Campanozzi, reach out to the comics and publishing industries to help in upcoming efforts to support the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Relative newcomer to the publishing industry, Open Book Press, has announced that they will begin fundraising efforts to help with relief for victims of hurricane Katrina on the gulf coast. The fundraising efforts will be done through a series of eBay auctions that will begin on October 1st and run through October 31st. 100% of the final sale price on items contributed will go to the American Red Cross and will be directly used to help in the relief efforts on the American Gulf Coast.

Items to be auctioned off will be autographed and limited edition books and graphic novels, rare merchandise, sketches, original artwork, comic books, as well as collectibles, comics and books donated out of the personal collections of the owners. These materials will consist of books and collectibles from all genres and all publishers and range from 1970’s to today, some items will be rare or signed. Original artwork donated by creators of Open Book Press graphic novels will also be auctioned off, and more detailed listings of specific items will be available in October.

The owners at Open Book Press are appealing not only to their own talented creators, but also appealing to all publishers, artists, writers, comic creators, and even the public to help contribute items for auction. We will accept art, autographs, books, toys, collectibles, original art, sketches, and even personal items, anything that will help to raise funds for hurricane victims. Small items will be auctioned together in batches because the minimum donation allowed per sale is $10 U.S. Any items not sold will be returned to those who donate them.
