LateRooms.com - Enjoy the International Animation Festival in Melbourne

June 17, 2010 (PRLEAP.COM) Travel News
LateRooms.com divulges people who are staying in Melbourne hotels at the end of June may want to consider attending some of the events planned as part of the International Animation Festival.

From June 19th to 27th, the Australian Centre for the Moving Image will be displaying a host of animated pieces in a variety of styles and covering a myriad of themes.

More than 400 films are scheduled to be shown during the nine-day festival, which "aims to challenge and inspire audiences" with its offerings.

Although there are special sessions for children, the majority of the event will be restricted to adults over the age of 18.

Tickets for a single session cost AU$14, while there are also options for a mini pass – allowing entry to six sessions - and a full festival pass available.

People attending the event this year could find that it is even more special than usual because it is celebrating its 10th anniversary.

To commemorate the occasion, there will be four programmes on show, each celebrating a decade of animation on different themes.

Among them are ten years of Australian highlights and ten years of student films, with each schedule offering visitors a chance to see some of the best animations from years gone by.

For more information on this event visit the Melbourne International Animation Festival website or contact the venue on +61 3 9375 1490.
