LateRooms.com divulges the National Cinema Museum in Turin is hosting an exhibition entitled Device of Wonder, which could be a must-see event for many film buffs.

Guests at hotels in Turin can attend the show from July 22nd until November 7th to discover more about the history of cinema and 'magic lantern slides'.

"The prestigious exhibition has been hosted with success in Paris and will be presented to the Italian public at the Reggia di Venaria inside Sale delle Arti," added the venue.

Curated by Laurent Mannoni, the main thrust of the show is to teach visitors about the history of the magic lantern and how it relates to cinema, both in the modern day and throughout the development of certain techniques.

The organisers highlighted areas such as erotica, ghosts, science and education, art and spectacle, and travel as themes that have been covered by shows in the past.

Tourists attending the show will have a chance to see more specifically how such creations influenced avant-garde and silent cinema works, as well as some contemporary art.

In April this year, a series of educational workshops were held at the Bibliomediateca Mario Gromo in Turin.

Entrance to this art space costs €7 (£5.80), with doors opening at 09:00 (local time) everyday except Monday and closing at 20:00, apart from Saturday when the venue shuts at 23:00.

For more information on this event visit the National Cinema Museum website or contact the venue on +39 011 8138 508.

To make the most of the Device of Wonder – you should consider booking your hotel Torino to avoid disappointment.
