American Board of Internal Medicine Announces New Board Leadership and Members

PHILADELPHIA – (July 1, 2010) – The American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) today named new leadership and members of its Board of Directors and Subspecialty Boards, which encompass the field of internal medicine.

"At a time of great turmoil on the medical landscape, the ability to work with such a knowledgeable and skilled group of professionals will be a great benefit to ABIM. The diverse expertise, experience and background of these individuals who are joining our boards will be a tremendous resource as we continue our work determining the requirements and qualifications for internal medicine physicians to certify and maintain certification in their chosen subspecialty," said Christine Cassel, MD, President and CEO of ABIM.

ABIM sets the standards and certifies physicians practicing in internal medicine and its subspecialties who possess the knowledge, skills and attitudes required to provide high quality care.
