Fourteen Man Team for Three Peaks Includes Terrys Fabrics Director

Paul McGuinness and his wife, Joanne, trustee of the Kabanda Trust, along with twelve willing members of Beswicks Law firm, the fourteen chirpy fund-raising; dare devils conquered the Three Peaks Challenge in twenty-five hours.

The Three Peaks Challenge was used as the vehicle for this worthy cause as it calls upon cooperation and competition between a team to make sure that driving and walking are undertaken by the most appropriate team members in order to meet the twenty four hour deadline. This year the team in which Terrys Director Paul McGuinness was involved took twenty five hours but this was completed with two injured team members in their squad who determined to continue rather than withdraw even though the deadline had been passed.

Pluck and courage in the face of adversity and funds raised for healthcare and education of children in Uganda is worthy of headlines or at least an honourable mention. It is heart-warming news to hear how someone usually so involved with their business operations, running the highly successful Terrys Fabrics selling blinds, homewares and curtains to a happy customer base, is willing to give up their time for the benefit of others.

Congratulations too, to Paul's wife Joanne for her participation in this non-glamorous, physically tiring, intense day of concentration and physical exertion. Selflessness will never be out of fashion when well-intentioned people get together for a good cause.
