LateRooms.com can reveal that anyone who fancies having a bit of a flutter during their time in Adelaide hotels next month should be sure they don't miss out on the National Sprint and Distance Championships.

Described by South Australia's Tourism Commission as one of the country's most prestigious greyhound racing events, a total of 12 contests will take place on the evening of August 28th 2010.

While all of these races are sure to be exciting viewing - especially for those with money riding on the results - it is the two feature meetings that are sure to be most awaited by the crowds.

One of these, the 2010 Sprint Championship, will see a total prize pot of A$75,000 up for grabs, while the same amount will also be on offer in the 2010 Distance Championship.

As well as all that sporting action, the week leading up to the event also includes numerous sightseeing tours around Adelaide.

"Everything you need for action-packed racing, entertainment and the very best that South Australia has to offer will be a highlight of the Nationals in South Australia in 2010," the tourism commission remarked.

Tickets are priced at A$10 for adults and A$5 for concessions, with the proceedings getting underway at 16:00 local time.

Angle Park is located in the north-west Adelaide suburb of the same name and is around ten kilometres from the city centre.

For more information on this event, visit the South Australia Tourism Commission website or contact the organisers on (+61) 8 8243 7155.

LateRooms recommends a variety of Adelaide accommodation, including the Hotel Grand Chancellor Adelaide and Chifley On South Terrace Adelaide.
