Hockey history comes to Calgary this Winter and Roadtrips - sports travel specialists from Winnipeg, Canada - are giving fans a chance to see this version of the Heritage Classic through a choice of travel packages. For the 2011 Heritage Classic, 40,000 plus hearty souls are expected to bundle up, brave the elements and pack McMahon football stadium to witness the Calgary Flames take on the Montreal Canadiens in the NHL's second ever Heritage Classic.

The first Hockey Heritage Classic was held in Edmonton in 2003 and proved to be a huge success. Fans came from all over the world to experience what was, at the time, the modern NHL's first outdoor game. Despite freezing temperatures, the event was extremely popular with both fans and players. The NHL has since held a number of outdoor games in the United States under the name 'Winter Classic' but has reserved the 'Heritage Classic' moniker for Canadian games.

"In Edmonton we handled several hundred guests," says Dave Guenther, President of Roadtrips. "For many it was like a pilgrimage. They felt they had to be there and be a part of hockey history. We're expecting similar passion and excitement in Calgary this Winter. It's going to be a unique and amazing experience to be a part of."

Roadtrips' travel packages to the 2011 Heritage Classic include a choice of downtown accommodations at the Hyatt Regency in Calgary or the Sheraton Suites Eau Claire, on site services and coveted tickets for the game in a choice of sections.

Package costs start at $645 per person based on double occupancy. Options for extra nights, airport transfers, event limousines and extra games in Western Canada can be added. For more information call 1-800-465-1765 or visit www.roadtrips.com.
