LateRooms.com reports Art enthusiasts booked into some of the luxury hotels Milan has to offer could take trip to Genoa to see Caravaggio e la fuga.

The exhibition, which is running until September 26th, offers people a chance to see a masterpiece by the great Italian artist in the beautiful setting of the Villa del Principe.

Visitors to the venue will find many frescoes to admire in addition to Caravaggio's work, with a stunning garden also on show at the museum.

Caravaggio e la fuga - known in English as Rest on the Flight into Egypt - was bought by the Doria-Pampohilj family for next to nothing in 1650, according to the Associated Press.

Speaking to the newswire, tour leader at the art space Laura Sciove pointed out that the display of this painting commemorates the 400th anniversary of the painter's death and highlights what an exceptional place the venue is to visit.

"The villa was reopened to the public in 1997 and each year we carry out new work to return the building as well as the gardens to their original glory," she was quoted as saying.

It costs €12 (£9.80) to enter the Villa del Principe, with the building opening between 10:00 and 17:00 local time every day except Thursday, when it is closed.

For more information on this event visit the Villa del Principe website or contact the venue on +39 010 255 509.
