Fashion for a Cause, using fashion to help others overcome hardship.

Blazing a trail in the industry since 2000, The Urban Fashion Week has presented an exciting week of urban fashion to New York, Los Angeles, and more recently, Las Vegas. However, this time things needed to be changed.

Urban Fashion Week founder Billy Foster has decided to present just two nights of fashion and parties during the event’s stint in Miami. Sympathetic to the wave of natural disasters that have plagued several states along the Gulf Coast, The Urban Fashion Week team reached toward their obligation to help their fellow Americans in this time of need. Proceeds from Fashion for a Cause event will be donated to the American Red Cross Hurricane Relief Fund.

Fashion for a Cause will go live with amazing fashion shows on October 7 and 8, at 7pm, featuring top urban clothing lines, such as Nelly’s Apple Bottom, P.Diddy’s Bad Boy line, Get Money Girl, G-Unit and many more. The event, in turn, will also provide emerging designers a platform to exhibit their designs.

This event will be hosted by Toccara from America’s Next Top Model and VH1’s Celebrity Fit Club, and will utilize Miami’s very own trendy, Riande Hotel (1825 Collins Avenue), which will be transformed into an alternative catwalk.

In continuing the grown and sexy momentum, directly after the fashion shows, attendees will have an opportunity to network and mingle at a reception. But what event is complete without music? Guests will be treated to a memorable and high-energy performance by one of the hottest artist out in addition to the guest DJs that will spin throughout the event.

Sponsors for the event include Ginger Luxe Cosmetics, All Dolled Up, Inc., The Beat 103 FM, Danielle Sims Photography and Dazzling Images Agency.

About The American Red Cross
The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers, guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement, will provide relief to victims of disasters and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.

Victims of Hurricane Katrina are attempting to recover from the massive storm. American Red Cross volunteers have been deployed to the hardest hit areas of Katrina’s destruction, supplying hundreds of thousands of victims left homeless with critical necessities. By making a financial donation to support Hurricane Relief efforts, the Red Cross can provide shelter, food, counseling and other assistance to those affected by Hurricane Katrina.
