LateRooms.com can announce that people looking for some Halloween fun while staying in Norfolk hotels next month may decide to explore Holkham Hall.

The 18th century country house will become a hub of spooky activities on October 30th and 31st, when it hosts a special ghost hunt.

Visitors attending Halloween at Holkham will be invited to walk the corridors of the Bygones Museum, where the organisers have promised "horrors to be discovered around every corner".

The event is priced at £4 for adults and £2 for children aged between five and 16, with younger visitors set to receive a special Halloween treat.

After the ghost hunt, brave souls can head over to the Stables Cafe, where ghoulish treats such as vampire's blood and monster cookies will be served up for their enjoyment.

Built by the first Earl of Leicester Thomas Coke, Holkham Hall is considered one of the finest examples of the Palladian revival style of architecture in England.

It was constructed between the 1730s and 1760s, with 6.5 acres of walled gardens added by architect Samuel Wyatt during the late 1700s.

Between April 1st and October 31st, Holkham is open to the public between 12:00 and 16:00 BST on Sundays, Mondays and Thursdays.

General admission to the Hall and Bygones Museum is priced at £11 for adults and £5.50 for children.
