December 30, 2010 (PRLEAP.COM) Entertainment News
First novel by Anthony Stephens published on Kindle. Paperback publishing deal in pipeline.

In these times when religion is being used as a tool by terrorists then we have to ask ourselves what role does religion have in secular societies.

Anthony Stephens has used the vehicle of an action thriller to question organized religion and the concept that religions have some sort of monopoly over the interpretation of God.

The premise of the novel is that the experience of God and spirituality is essentially an individual one and that God cannot be used as an excuse for organizations and collectives of people to justify their actions and their accumulation of power.

In the story, the central character is a nun who realizes that to advance along her own spiritual pathway she has to abandon the idea of the deity and religion that she's been indoctrinated into. In the process she becomes living proof that ordinary individuals can develop paranormal powers and as a result she falls foul of the Vatican, Muslim extremists and the British Anti-Terrorist Squad.
