LateRooms.com - Seville performance of Carmen 'questions a paradox'

LateRooms.com can announce that there are sure to be queues of tourists wanting to see an upcoming production of Carmen in Seville later this year.

Theatregoers staying in some of the fine accommodation Seville has to offer may know that the story is set in the Andalusian city, making it the perfect place to see it performed.

However, this will not be any ordinary interpretation of the story, according to the organisers.

One of the key issues that will be explored in the show at the Teatro Lope de Vega on November 20th, 21st, 27th and 28th is the "great paradox" of the central protagonist.

A representative from the venue pointed out that the main character is a liar, thief, prostitute and criminal, yet she is widely seen as a symbol of a free woman.

This new focus should give the performance added depth, both for those who have seen the show before and others who are viewing it for the first time.

Carmen, which was originally written by Georges Bizet but here has been adapted by Prosper Merimee, tells the story of a fiery gypsy who woos men with her beauty.

Performance times vary depending on the date, with admission costing between €4 (£3.50) and €21. Tickets are available online or at the box office.

For more information on this event visit the Teatro Lope de Vega website or contact the venue on +34 954 590 867.
