The world capital of fashion and shopping also boasts and internationally renowned plastic surgery center. Rodeo Drive Plastic Surgery places patient safety as its top priority. Now, signifying success in this endeavor, its outpatient surgery center has received a three year certification by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC).

Not all ambulatory health care organizations seek accreditation and not all undergoing the on-site survey are granted accreditation, so the center's achievement is noteworthy.

The results of the recent AAAHC site visit and evaluation indicate that Rodeo Drive Plastic Surgery adheres to the highest standards for patient care and safety. During the two day inspection visit, the center was examined for its policies and procedures covering such items as the rights of patients, quality of care, clinical records, infection prevention, patient safety, facilities and environment, anesthesia safety, procedures for such issues as the maintenance and evaluation of physician and staff credentials, keeping all equipment in perfect operating order, and the proper storage and use of medications.

Every accredited organization must have a formal quality improvement program, to assure ongoing enhancements to care. Rodeo Drive Plastic Surgery was found to comply with this rigorous standard as part of its on-site evaluation.

During the two day site visit, the physical layout of the facility was inspected by a specially trained physician. Medical records for patients were reviewed by this inspecting physician. Credentials of physicians and staff were reviewed by the inspector. And an actual surgical procedure was observed to assure complete compliance with all standards. The result of these thorough steps of evaluation was the finding that the center deserved certification, marking it as a true center of excellence in patient care.

Accreditation distinguishes this surgical center from many other outpatient surgical facilities by providing a safe environment and the highest quality of care to its patients.

"We are dedicated to patient safety above all else for all procedures, including breast augmentation," noted Medical Director Dr. Lloyd Krieger. "We are proud to have received this full three year certification by the AAAHC. It shows how much we value excellence in patient care – and that we succeed in an ongoing basis to preserve and enhance it. This was our fourth visit by the accreditation group over the years and I am pleased that each time we received full certification. Our accreditation signifies that we have met the rigorous standards of a nationally recognized third party."

As the letter certifying the organization said, "The dedication and effort necessary for an organization to be accredited is substantial and the compliance with those standards implies a commitment to continual self-evaluation and continuous improvement."

Rodeo Drive Plastic Surgery and Medical Director Dr. Lloyd Krieger have been featured in the local, national, and international media for their work on such procedures as rhinoplasty. Recent stories and articles have appeared in Fortune, The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, USA Today, The New York Times, CNBC and Access Hollywood. International media have featured the center, including from such countries as Great Britain, France, Switzerland, Austria, Denmark, Sweden, Russia, Turkey, Mexico, Brazil, Japan, and New Zealand.

The Beverly Hills plastic surgery center attracts clientele from around the country and world, with more than a quarter of its patients coming from out of state and more than ten percent traveling from out of the country.
