Raleigh, North Carolina - G21: The World's Magazine (http://www.g21.net/) and Lulu.com are proud to announce the release today of "Katrina and The Lost City of New Orleans" by G21.net editor and publisher Rod Amis. The new book is a look back at many things America didn't know about New Orleans before the great hurricane disaster and forward to those things the evacuees of the Big Easy are learning about America.

Described by one reviewer as a "rollicking, swaggering, Hunter S.-noir Thompson ride of a read," Amis's book promises to open eyes and shake minds, if not worlds.

A percentage of the proceeds from sales of the book is being donated to a special New Orleans Service Workers Relief Fund, established by a foundation set up by Brennan's Restaurant, an historic New Orleans venue. Says the author, "I was a service worker, a bartender, in New Orleans myself.

"The cooks, servers and restaurant workers of New Orleans have provided fabulous times and memories for millions. Now we must remember them in their time of need."

A former resident of the Ninth Ward of New Orleans, Amis moved to North Carolina at the beginning of the summer, only to find he was spending the past month looking for friends and co-workers affected by the storm. This book, he says, is a homage to those people and that city he knew and loved and expects never, ever to be the same again.

The first 100 copies of the book sold will be personally autographed by the author and numbered.
