The UK’s First Ever Multicultural Nursing Journal

October 08, 2005 (PRLEAP.COM) Health News
Multicultural Nursing is an exciting addition to the suite of specialist journals produced by the RCN Publishing Company. The journal will be published ten times a year from the beginning of October. This essential source of high quality information will ensure that excellent nursing care is delivered to patients across all cultures whether their origins are in the U.K. or overseas. It will also help nurses to develop confidence to influence their organisation’s policy and direction in providing culturally acceptable services.

A significant proportion of the U.K. population is from a minority ethnic background. Multicultural Nursing is designed to help nurses and healthcare professionals improve their patient care through a better understanding of their patients’ clinical and cultural needs.

Multicultural Nursing will support nurses in their work by publishing articles on cultural and clinical issues including post-operative care, home-based care, nutrition and diet, hygiene and care of the dying. The journal features cutting edge articles on topics such as pain experiences in different cultures, cultural perspectives on nursing ethics and management of chronic diseases in minority ethnic groups. The journal also provides career and professional development advice on working and progressing in nursing in the U.K.
