LateRooms.com - Els Joglars anniversary show in Bilbao 'looks to the future'

LateRooms.com can announce that a new show by Els Joglars is being performed in Bilbao this December to celebrate 50 years of the private theatre company.

The group's anniversary year is actually in 2011 but the Teatro Arriaga is starting the festivities early with four showings of this production, entitled 2036 Omena-G.

It stars a collection of actors from the Els Joglars stable, with many of the team having been involved with the company for more than 20 years.

The most experienced member is Jesus Agelet, who has been with the group for 31 years.

Els Joglars have chosen to celebrate their 50th anniversary by imagining how the team's 75th birthday would play out.

Travellers with hotel Bilbao bookings can expect to see a cruel and entertaining show that explores what the company - and society as a whole - will be like in 25 year's time, according to the organisers.

"The sarcasm with which Joglars has portrayed the evolution of society in the last fifty years of Spanish history is also applied now to ourselves, without any lenience," they added.

Admission for this intriguing show costs between €6.40 (£5.40) and €21.

The production will be performed at 20:00 local time on December 9th, 10th and 11th, with a 19:00 show taking place on the 12th.

One of the other highlights of the month at the Teatro Arriaga is a cabaret show by local actress Gurutze Beitia on December 16th.
