December 20, 2010 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
E & M Sales, Inc. of Littleton, Colo., announced today that it has completed the purchase of Houston-based FASTORQ. This closing follows due diligence and the agreement that George A. Sturdevant, FASTORQ founder and co-designer of the first hydraulic torque wrench in 1972, will retain some ownership in the company and become its CEO.

FASTORQ will continue to manufacture, design and sell from its location in Texas, while national and international sales efforts will be spearheaded out of Littleton, with four regional sales managers: Harry Maynes, Northeast; Scott Sammons, Midwest; Andy Hawker, West; and Pam Sanchez, Gulf Coast. Bill Washington has assumed the role of company president.

"With the sale complete, we can now move forward in working with FASTORQ's excellent New Caney, Texas, staff," says Mark Murphy, president of E & M Sales. "We're excited to expand the sales opportunities for FASTORQ, and look forward to FASTORQ's growth and capture of market share in 2011 and beyond. There is a great synergy with FASTORQ's product offering and the products E & M sells in the oil and gas marketplace."

George Sturdevant is a pioneer of the hydraulic tools industry with nearly 40 years of experience. FASTORQ's patented hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic and electric tools and technologies provide advanced safety benefits while reducing time and labor on the job.
