LateRooms.com - Into the Hands of Time on show in Madrid

LateRooms.com reports Madrid's Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia (MNCARS) is showcasing the work of Jean-Luc Mylayne in an exhibition entitled Into the Hands of Time.

Running until April 4th 2011, this display demonstrates Mr Mylayne's extraordinary skill at photographing birds - an interest he has been pursuing for more than 30 years.

The organisers of the show explained that all of the subjects of the artist's images are wild and his preparation for each photograph is painstaking in the extreme.

Travellers at Madrid hotels who visit the exhibition will be able to see how long it took for every image to be taken and developed, as he has recorded the amount of time spent on the snaps.

"In choosing his site and subject the French-born artist relies on a chance encounter with one among the many birds in a flock, an individual that evidences a certain curiosity along with a natural wariness," noted a representative from the venue.

Admission costs €6 (£5.10) if people want to see the venue's permanent collection as well, or €3 if visitors are only interested in viewing Into the Hands of Time.

Opening hours at the arts space are from 10:00 to 18:00 local time every day except Tuesdays, when the complex is closed.

The display can be found at the Palacio de Velazquez within the Parque del Retiro, which can be reached from the Metro station Retiro.
