LASIK Surgeon Dr. Joseph King Shares His Personal LASIK Story

January 07, 2011 (PRLEAP.COM) Health News
Dr. Joseph King is thrilled to share his personal LASIK story with his prospective vision correction patients. In an essay entitled "Why I Had LASIK," Dr. King shares his personal experience of struggling with bad vision and making the decision to undergo laser vision correction. Dr. King is a highly sought after eye surgeon who has been helping patients throughout the Pacific Northwest and Western Canada achieve better vision for decades. To date, he has successfully performed more than 60,000 laser vision correction procedures throughout the United States and Canada, including Vancouver, Seattle and Portland.

Dr. King understands that some patients may be apprehensive about laser vision correction surgery; however, after experiencing the life-changing effects of LASIK himself, he strongly believes that the benefits outweigh the risks, which are minimized when vision correction is provided by a highly skilled and experienced eye surgeon.

After helping more than 10,000 patients achieve near-perfect vision and greatly reduce their dependence on corrective eyewear, Dr. King decided that he'd had enough of dealing with eyeglasses and contact lenses, which often caused his eye to become uncomfortably dry and gritty. After trying a range of different types of contact lenses, Dr. King was forced to wear eyeglasses on a daily basis. Being a passionate athlete who enjoyed his active lifestyle, Dr. King realized that wearing eyeglasses while running, cycling and waterskiing affected his performance and posed several safety concerns.

In the year 2000, Dr. King underwent his LASIK procedure and achieved near-perfect vision just hours following surgery. "Freedom from glasses and contacts has made it a lot easier to enjoy my lifestyle," says Dr. King. "Improving my vision with LASIK has been one of the best things I have ever done in my life."
