Fort Worth, TX – Allied Electronics, a subsidiary of Electrocomponents plc (LSE: ECM), announced that Duane Hong is the winner of its latest promotional contest.

Hong, vice-president of Wi-Tronix, an Illinois-based supplier of mobile asset monitoring solutions, was chosen in a random drawing of contestants who requested an Allied catalog during the promotion. He will receive a palm One Treo 650 Smartphone.

Hong has relied on Allied for products since his business was launched in February.

“I order from Allied because of their assortment of available parts,” Hong said. “I really like the Allied catalog because it has good detail and colored photos of the products.”

Allied has been taking care of customers like Hong for over 75 years. The Fort Worth-based electronic component distributor used the contest to promote its catalog, which features more than 135,000 electronic and electromechanical components in stock and available for same day shipment.

“Using the Allied catalog, customers can find what they need quickly and easily and have it shipped the same day they order it,” says Rob Birse, vice president of marketing at Allied. “This promotion was an excellent opportunity to reward one of our customers.”
