Virtual team software saves gas

October 12, 2005 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
New York, NY —— Virtual Global Technologies announces the upcoming
November release of TeamLeader 2006, nicknamed High Mileage for its promise
to promote telecommuting and reduce travel costs.

Despite soaring gas prices, many managers have hesitated to support
telecommuting teams because they are harder to manage. TeamLeader 2006 lets
managers oversee telecommuting teams as they jointly tackle everything from
simple tasks to complex projects. The goal is to increase closeness and
trust without interfering with the empowered team culture. Virtual Global
anticipates a boost in telecommuting as a result.

Traffic congestion is estimated to cost travelers $63 billion annually, as
indicated in the 2005 Urban Mobility Report released by the Texas
Transportation Institute (TTI). With gasoline prices soaring above $3 per
gallon, it’s realistic to expect those numbers to increase dramatically.

Cary Landis, Virtual Global’s president, suggests that TeamLeader 2006 can
reduce gas prices by more than 80% for some teams. “That’s a bold claim,”
says Landis, “but we’ve created our entire product line without ever having
met face-to-face with our international developers. One hundred percent of
that work has been virtual, and the savings have been tremendous.”

Despite the focus on telecommuting teams, TeamLeader 2006 will work equally
well for local teams, satellite offices and outsourced teams. Three
editions are available for varying needs, including the free Lite Edition
for small business teams, the Midgrade edition for more serious teams or the
High Octane edition for globally dispersed teams.
