Pagers Improve Emergency Communications

Emergency communications in Victoria will be improved because of a new deal with a WA-based innovator.

RF Innovations Pty Ltd, a Perth-based wireless connectivity company specialising in the development and manufacture of radio modems, active Radar proximity modules, and train integrity networks, has been awarded a one million dollar contract by LSE Technology (Australia) Pty Ltd to supply digital multimode 100 watt Paging transmitters for the Victorian Government's state wide Emergency Alerting System (EAS).

"The EAS will improve response times to emergencies through faster contact of fire, ambulance and emergency services personnel,' said RF Innovations Managing Director Richard Wilkins.

The EAS Victorian supply contract follows a recent order for RFI's paging transmitters to the Saudi Arabian Electricity supply authority and 500 transmitters to fit out a major European network.

RFI designed paging transmitters are also built under license in China and sold internationally under various badge names.

"A growth market for paging has emerged because of the need for reliable blanket messaging in emergency conditions such as terrorist attacks, where normal GSM and CDMA telephone systems can become overloaded,' Mr Wilkins said.

RFI paging transmitters operate seamlessly in all industry standard paging formats including POCSAG, 4 level 6400 bps ERMES and FLEX™ standards.

"The twin paradigms of engineering excellence and innovative technology have earned RFI forward orders exceeding $5M, for advanced wireless data products and system development contracts,' Mr Wilkins said.

"As a result of the company's growth, increasing profitability, and the expressions of interest in our patented technology, the Directors are positioning RFI for a future public listing.'
