Snowbound Releases VirtualViewer AJAX 2.0.1 with FileNet Annotations

Feb 16, 2011 (Boston, MA) – Snowbound Software, the leader in document viewing and conversion solutions, announces the release of version 2.0 of the company's flagship 'Zero Footprint' (NO client install required), VirtualViewer AJAX offering. This latest product offering features support for FileNet stored documents including annotations as well as a wide variety of new page manipulation capabilities, and performance upgrades for enhanced document and image access and processing.

VirtualViewer is the only professional-grade Zero Footprint viewer that operates with virtually any Web browser, as well as on mobile devices such as Apple's iPad and many Smartphones. VirtualViewer displays virtually all document and image formats (MS Office, PDF, TIFF, and more), enables the ability to mark-up/annotate, and gives users access to content via a pure HTML interface – all without compromising document formatting or retrieval speed.

This latest VirtualViewer AJAX release offers new product improvements that allow the opening and viewing FileNet stored documents and annotations, and advanced page manipulation including document combination, and the deletion and reordering of pages – all from a pure HTML client. The new capabilities and performance upgrades are available for the Java platform now and will be offered to .NET users a bit later in Q1 2011.

Snowbound's AJAX universal document viewer also offers users the ability to open user-defined document combinations (Virtual documents) at the same time, select which documents are displayed by default when the viewer is opened, and allow the document thumbnail display panel to highlight either the pages from one document or the first page from multiple documents. Workflow is greatly enhanced through the use of user-defined document sets that extract pages from multiple documents in advance to speed review.
