LateRooms.com - Head to Barcelona for Disappeared

February 17, 2011 (PRLEAP.COM) Travel News
LateRooms.com can announce that Disappeared is a photojournalism project that aims to increase awareness of a global issue through a collection of powerful images.

The exhibition will be held at the Centre de Cultura Contemporania de Barcelona (CCCB) until May 1st 2011.

It has been put together by Gervasio Sanchez and explores the problem of how people in countries such as Argentina, Iraq, Cambodia and Bosnia-Herzegovina have been subjected to "forced disappearance" by certain groups.

There have been reports of individuals going missing during periods of repression or war all over the world.

What Sanchez aims to highlight - through images and two audiovisual recordings - is the consequences of such barbaric activity.

The installation has been organised in association with La Casa Encendida de Obra Social Caja Madrid and the Museo de Arte Contemporaneo de Castilla y Leon.

It is open from 11:00 to 20:00 local time from Tuesday to Sunday, with the exhibition shutting at 22:00 every Thursday. Tickets cost €4.50 (£3.80).

The CCCB can be reached by taking the Metro to Catalunya or Universitat.
