DirectRooms.com reveals that visitors to Aberdeen can attend a number of activities and events happening at the end of April that will be centred on the great whisky that is produced from Speyside.

The Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival is focused on the different whiskies that are produced from the region and attendees can get the opportunity to sample a wide variety of blends. The festival aims to provide people with a greater understanding into the processes of producing fine whisky and what to look for when tasting certain varieties.

Throughout the event tours will be conducted of the local distilleries and again visitors can look forward to the opportunity to sample some of the quality liquor being produced on site.

People with a finer appreciation of whisky are also able to attend the whisky school which will feature lectures from industry experts and behind the scenes tours at some of the distilleries.

The festival runs from 28th April to 2nd May 2011 with activities held everyday with a mixture of free and paid for events. Visitors staying in hotels Aberdeen can travel to the events which are held at several locations only a short distance away and the proceedings last from morning until night.
