March Is 2nd Anniversary for Mavenlive Physical Therapy Exercise Software
March 10, 2011 (PRLEAP.COM) Health NewsWINNIPEG, MANITOBA, CANADA - March is the second anniversary of Prognition Corp.'s introduction of Mavenlive physical therapy exercise software to clinics around the world, and many improvements have been made during that short time.
Mavenlive was created to serve as a complete clinical solution that presents "best practice" patient assessments and exercise prescription to ensure consistency within physical therapy offices, said Dr. Jay Winburn, president of Prognition Corp.
The exercise software automatically generates customizable documentation, letters to referring doctors and reports. It also improves patient outcomes, automates processes and documentation, and saves therapists time. Because it is Web-based nature, users can access the software anywhere they have an Internet connection- in their clinics, at coffee shops or even in their own home.
In the two years since the rehab software product was released, Mavenlive has undergone two software upgrades. Version 3.0 introduced in March 2010 included functionality improvements based on user feedback, as well as an editable, more user-friendly assessment system that is almost entirely point and click.
In January, Prognition Corp. initiated server and infrastructure upgrades to better accommodate increased usage from a fast-growing client base.
Today there are users of the physical therapy assessment software on four continents.
"We have seen that as our users increase their experience with the rehabilitation exercises, they are more apt to take advantage of the built-in ability to make customizations that fit their exact philosophy," Winburn said. "People add physiotherapy exercises that aren't in the original knowledge base, and they modify the diagnostic tree to their thinking."
This is something the makers wanted to see, because the more customizations that a user makes in Mavenlive, the more useful it becomes for them, he adds. Another notable fact about Mavenlive is that customizations made by a therapist can be shared with colleagues, which promotes learning and improved patient care.
Mavenlive was created in March 2009 by Prognition Corp., a software company headquartered in Canada's National Research Council's Biomedical Commercialization Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
