The 2011 Oceania and Asia Pacific Championships will see top male and female skaters flock to the Gold Coast in mid-April.

It features three different disciplines - speed, inline hockey and artistic skating - all of which will take place at venues across the Queensland resort.

Speed trials are scheduled for the Broadwater Parklands at Southport, a three-kilometre stretch of foreshore that is widely recognised as one of the state's most iconic attractions.

The Runaway Indoor Sports Centre has been chosen to host the artistic element and the inline hockey action will be based at the Carrara Indoor Stadium, capable of seating almost 3,000 people at full capacity.

Proceedings will run from April 16th to 21st.

The event attracts participants from across the Oceania and Asia Pacific regions. New Zealand have already confirmed their squad for the event, comprising cadet, youth, junior, senior and masters teams.

Sports fans looking to stay in Gold Coast hotels and enjoy the diverse range of talents on show at the championships can check out LateRooms.com.au, which recommends a wide array of last minute accommodation near the three venues.
