Tears Not of Joy, a new book by Joynetta Cutts, has been released by RoseDog Books.

Across the United States, tens of thousands of Americans are living lives as "the forgotten." They see friends and family once or twice a year-at best. They have no one to talk to, no one to listen to them, no one to simply give them a hug and a smile.

Who are these "forgotten"? They are the men and women in nursing facilities and personal care homes across the country. According to Joynetta in Tears Not of Joy, most receive inferior or inadequate treatment, and many times they're even "doped up" to keep them manageable. The glimpse she gives into the day-in, day-out lives of these men and women is truly heart wrenching.

But Joynetta doesn't stop there; she provides hope. She reminds readers that each one of us can do something. By simply visiting a local nursing home and spending time with residents there, we become part of the solution to this sad epidemic.

As a former caretaker herself and as the daughter of a woman now in a nursing home, Joynetta provides an intimate look at this very real problem-and its solution.

Tears Not of Joy is a 36-page paperback with a retail price of $9.00. The ISBN is 978-1-4349-0341-9. RoseDog Books of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania published it.
