The Khamoro World Roma Festival is due to take place in Prague next month, boasting a packed programme of cultural activities.

Running from May 23rd to 28th 2011, the event will include parades, concerts and films among other entertainment.

The festival is organised to celebrate Roma culture in the city, with much of the action taking place at the Prague Congress Centre.

While much of the occasion is about enjoying the creative output of the people, there is also a serious side to it, with talks and workshops taking place to discuss the Roma way of life and how it should be integrated.

According to the organisers, the programme is still being finalised, but several bands have already been confirmed, including groups from Norway, Bulgaria and Italy.

The term Roma refers to gypsy people who live around eastern Europe, although they have now migrated to parts of western Europe and South America.

Information on the start time of activities in the festival and prices charged for attendance will be released in the coming weeks.

LateRooms.com offers revellers a wide variety of Prague hotels, including the Hotel Tosca Prague.

Visitors can find more information about the event by heading to http://www.khamoro.cz/ or calling the organisers on +420 222 518 554.
