Pressed Out Women sees the work of Seville-born artist Inmaculada Salinas take centre stage.

Several pieces are on display at the Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporaneo (CAAC) until June 12th 2011, with the items grouped into four sections.

Salinas uses the role of women as a starting point for much of her art and this topic dominates three of the areas, with the fourth one exploring the autonomy of a painting from its time of creation.

Prensadas showcases the relative presence of females in the media; Vision de las Vencidas reflects on a book by the Mexican anthropologist Miguel Leon Portilla; and Espejo involves the Spanish word for woman - mujer - written out 40 times in different ways.

Como Fondo uses press cuttings to investigate the link between great paintings and the eras in which they were made.

People can reach the museum by taking the C-1 or C-2 bus services in the city centre.

Tickets to enter the exhibition cost €1.80 (£1.55), or visitors can pay €3.01 to see everything the CAAC offers.

It is open from Tuesday to Saturday between 11:00 and 21:00 local time and Sunday from 11:00 to 15:00.
